What Are Fail-to-Deliver Events?
The Core Idea
When someone sells a stock, the shares are expected to be delivered within a set settlement timeframe. A Fail-to-Deliver (FTD) is a reported event in which delivery was not completed by the expected date. Public FTD records can be studied as one part of a broader market-record review.
